Groups decry police brutality in Mendiola protests

Human rights group Karapatan condemned the repeated violence, physical assault, and abuse against detainees arrested on September 21 at the Manila Police District (MPD). The group called for an immediate independent investigation and accountability of the perpetrators of these abuses.

Network to combat HR and IHL violations launched

Alarmed by the gravity and impunity with which human rights and international humanitarian laws are being violated by the US-Marcos regime specifically in peasant and indigenous communities, faith-based leaders, human rights defenders, academia, lawyers, writers and artists, environmental advocates, peasants, and representatives from Indigenous and Moro communities launched last September 6 in Manila, the Manindigan (Stand Firm) Network to fight escalating human rights and international humanitarian law (IHL) violations.

New PKM chapter in Negros founded amid intense military operations

On September 7, 2025, a new chapter of the revolutionary peasant organization PKM was organized in a guerilla front in Negros island.

According to the CPP, the whole revolutionary movement in Negros is determined to strengthen the mass base within their areas of operation. They gave their all-out effort, with courage and resolve in doing mass work under the guidance of the rectification movement in the face of relentless fascist military operations in the guerilla front.

Groups dismayed by postponement of Duterte’s ICC trial

Victims of former Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte’s War-on-drugs, their lawyers and supporters expressed deep disappointment at the International Criminal Court (ICC) Pre-Trial Chamber’s postponement of the confirmation hearing, scheduled September 23, for Duterte’s crimes against humanity case. The ICC’s decision was released on September 8, 2025.

Filipinos support Venezuela’s just resistance against US imperialism

The Philippine-Bolivarian Venezuela Friendship Association (PBVFA) and the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (BAYAN) joined the Global Day of Solidarity with Venezuela and for Peace in Latin America on August 31. The expression of solidarity was made in the midst of the U.S. disinformation campaign  accusing the country of being involved in illegal drug trafficking.

The PBVFA laughs off such incredible basis to justify the deployment of the U.S. of warships and marines off the Venezuelan coast. BAYAN declared that “The recent deployment of U.S. warships in the Carribean, under the pretext for regime change in Venezuela”.

NPA inflicts hard blows to Marcos Jr.’s fascist troops in latest actions

New People’s Army (NPA) guerrillas inflicted hard blows recently to Marcos’ fascist troops wiping out at least a dozen fascist soldiers. This came as the fascist Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) began another wave of brutal counterrevolutionary armed offensives across several provinces.
