The National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) is the umbrella alliance of underground revolutionary organizations that are fighting for genuine national freedom, democracy and all-around development in the country.

Founded on 24 April 1973, it strives to change the socio-economic system in the Philippines characterized by poverty, hunger, and unemployment among the majority of Filipinos. These problems are rooted in the domination of US imperialism and of the local ruling classes of big comprador-capitalists and landlords.

The NDFP is most well-known for representing the revolutionary movement in peace talks with the Government of the Republic of the Philippines.

The NDFP has consistently pushed for talks which will address the root causes of the armed conflict by carrying out fundamental economic, political and social reforms that will benefit the Filipino masses and people.

In the ongoing revolutionary struggle in the Philippines, organs of the people’s democratic government are already being formed at various levels. The NDFP supports these organs and represents them around the world in forging relations with movements, political parties and governments.

The NDFP currently has 18 allied organizations, including the Communist Party of the Philippines and its armed wing, the New People’s Army. [Read about the NDFP and its 12-Point Program.]
