Marcos Jr. enables US, Japan military intervention using "disaster response" as pretext

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) condemns the Marcos regime and its armed forces, the US and Japanese military forces for holding the so-called Doshin-Bayanihan 2024 military exercises at the Ebuen Air Base in Lapu-Lapu City in Cebu which started last October 2, and ended on October 7.

CPP commemorates 75th anniversary of Chinese revolution

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), in a statement issued 10 October 2024, commemorated the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC). The PRC was established following the victory of the people’s democratic revolution on 1 October 1949 led by the Communist Party of China and Chairman Mao Zedong.

Marcos lavish lifestyle amidst rising hunger

About 59 percent of Filipinos or some 16 million families are poor and hungry, according to a September 2024 survey of social research institution Social Weather Station. This means that these families either do not have the means to buy enough food to feed their family, or whatever meager capacity they have to buy food, food prices are way beyond their reach.

NPA launches multiple tactical offensives in Masbate, Sorsogon and Western Samar

Amid intensified combat and siege operations of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in various regions and provinces in the country, the New People’s Army (NPA launched multiple sniping and counter-attack operations in September in Masbate and Sorsogon.

CPP, int’l community strongly condemn attacks on Lebanon by Zionist Israel

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP) has strongly condemned Zionist Israel’s attacks and aggression on Lebanon carried out on September 17, 18, 23 and 24. The September 17 and 18 attacks killed more than 20 individuals, mostly civilians, including children, and injuring more than 2,800 people. The attacks  involved booby-trapping thousands of pagers and walkie-talkie devices by embedding them with explosive material and remotely detonating them simultaneously.

Protests mark 52nd Martial Law anniversary in PH

The fifty second year since the declaration of Martial Law was met with protests by various groups both in the Philippines and abroad. According to Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) who led the mobilizations, the same conditions of human rights abuses and political repression during Martial Law days persist under the current administration.

Anti-fascist congress convenes in Venezuela to confront US imperialism and its allies

The Global Congress against Fascism, Neo-fascism and Similar Expressions hosted by the Venezuelan Bolivarian Republic was held in Caracas  on September 10-11, 2024. The highlight on September 11 was chosen in commemoration of the death anniversary of  Chilean President Salvador Allende, who was ousted by the US puppet and fascist General Pinochet in 1973.  Allende together with other martyrs like Fidel Castro, Che Guevarra, and Julio Chavez serve as inspiration to freedom fighters in Latin America, the Carribean and the whole world in their continuing struggle against imperialism, local reaction and fascism.
