The Filipino proletariat and toiling peoples grieve the death of their teacher and guiding light. Prof. Jose Maria Sison, Founding Chairman of the Communist Party of the Philippines and Chief Political Consultant of the National Democratic Front of the Philippines, passed away peacefully in the early afternoon of 16 December, after two weeks’ confinement in a hospital in Utrecht, The Netherlands. He was 83.

Marcos Jr. Maharlika Investment Fund: A Huge Scam in the Making

All indications show that Marcos Jr.’s pet bill, the ‘Maharlika Investment Fund’ will be a rip-off.  The proposed law is a Marcos family project introduced to congress by the President’s first cousin House Speaker Martin Romualdez and the President’s son Deputy Minority Leader Sandro Marcos. Despite strong opposition, including big business organizations, Marcos Jr.’s henchmen in Congress are pushing hard for the bill’s passage before the end of the year.

Harris visit intensifies US military intervention and fuels danger of inter-imperialist war

More than anything else, the recent visit of US Vice President Kamala Harris to the Philippines serves the aim of heightening US military intervention in the country and in the Asia-Pacific region. It serves to aggravate tensions with China and further raises the specter of an inter-imperialist war.

‘AFP Modernization Program’ exposes Marcos Jr. as a tool of US aggression

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. stated in no uncertain terms on 8 November that the Armed Forces of the Philippines modernization program will continue during his term. In the same breath, he cites ‘terrorism’ as justification to use taxpayers’ money to purchase more night-fighting systems capability, transport aircrafts, additional helicopters capable of night flight and more communications and surveillance equipment for police and military forces.

Marcos Jr is digging his own grave

The Armed Forces of the Philippines’ rampage in Himamaylan City, Negros Oriental, has already left at least 18,000 rural community residents forcibly displaced, and thousands more traumatized due to relentless artillery shelling and aerial strafing. Their attacks have escalated to the point where they declared parts of the city ‘no man’s land’ and anyone left behind are to be considered shoot-to-kill targets.
