Celebrate 57 years of leading the National Democratic Revolution

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), in commemorating its 57th anniversary on December 26, 2025, stated that the rapid acceleration of the crisis of the semicolonial and semifeudal system in the Philippines in 2025 and the prolonged stagnation of the global capitalist system open up many great opportunities for advancing the cause of the working class and all oppressed classes for liberation. The Central Committee of the CPP also reported that the rectification movement, as it enters its third year, has achieved meaningful advances in the ideological, political and organizational fields. These make the conditions excellent for the party to further advance the people’s democratic revolution through protracted people’s war.

The latest military agreement between Germany and the Philippines, signed in May 2025, enhances defense cooperation in areas such as cybersecurity, logistics, and UN peacekeeping. This agreement builds on previous collaborations against percieved threats from China and Russia. Following the signing, both countries plan to hold the 3rd Philippines-Germany Security and Defense Staff Talks to outline specific joint activities and initiatives for the upcoming year.

Reject US Task Force Philippines

About a year ago, US military officials created Task Force Ayungin, a unit purportedly to assist in the “resupply” operations for the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ship BRP Sierra Madre which was deliberately stranded at Ayungin Shoal in the West Philippine Sea. The US has been providing military equipment and other necessary resources, as well as aerial and satellite surveillance support. In short, the AFP’s “resupply missions” are maritime operations directly commanded and controlled by the US military.

In an attempt to liven up an otherwise lackluster report on his State of the Nation Address delivered to a bicameral Congress last July 28, 2025, Ferdinand Marcos Jr theatrically castigated corrupt politicians, bureaucrats and flood control project contractors with a “Mahiya naman kayo!” (Shame on You!) outburst. At the same time he presented a list of 15 contractor companies suspected of executing overpriced, substandard, delayed or even “ghost” infrastructure projects.
