The impeachment complaints filed against the country’s top officials – Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte – in the past week are but expressions of the Filipino people’s growing outcry for genuine social change. The corruption scandals that have unfolded in recent months, the continuing landlessness of the peasant class, low wages amid rising prices of basic goods, have further revealed the deep rot of bureaucrat capitalism embedded in the workings of the Philippine reactionary government.

Trump’s attacks vs Venezuela expose the deepening crisis of US imperialism

On January 3, 2026, the world watched in stunned disbelief as the United States launched a full-scale military operation against the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela. In a direct violation of international law and Venezuela’s national sovereignty, US special forces bombed military targets in Caracas, killed scores of Venezuelan soldiers and civilians, and forcibly removed President Nicolás Maduro and his wife from their country, flying them to New York to face trial in a US federal courtroom.

Celebrate 57 years of leading the National Democratic Revolution

The Communist Party of the Philippines (CPP), in commemorating its 57th anniversary on December 26, 2025, stated that the rapid acceleration of the crisis of the semicolonial and semifeudal system in the Philippines in 2025 and the prolonged stagnation of the global capitalist system open up many great opportunities for advancing the cause of the working class and all oppressed classes for liberation. The Central Committee of the CPP also reported that the rectification movement, as it enters its third year, has achieved meaningful advances in the ideological, political and organizational fields. These make the conditions excellent for the party to further advance the people’s democratic revolution through protracted people’s war.

US-led imperialist powers drag PH into quagmire of inter-imperialist conflict

Vol. VII, No. 23 - December 15, 2025

The latest military agreement between Germany and the Philippines, signed in May 2025, enhances defense cooperation in areas such as cybersecurity, logistics, and UN peacekeeping. This agreement builds on previous collaborations against percieved threats from China and Russia. Following the signing, both countries plan to hold the 3rd Philippines-Germany Security and Defense Staff Talks to outline specific joint activities and initiatives for the upcoming year.

Only the national democratic revolution can end bureaucrat capitalist rule
